Kairuku waewaeroa

Taxonomy
Kairuku waewaeroa was named by Giovanardi et al. (2021). Its type specimen is WM 2006/1/1, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Te Waitere, near, which is in a Whaingaroan coastal siltstone in the Glen Massey Formation of New Zealand.

Giovanardi et al. 2021Distinguished from Kairuku waitaki and Kairuku grebneffi by larger size, presence of a deep ovoid fossa on the ventral face of the processus acrocoracoideus of the coracoid, and finger-like shape of the processus lateralis of the coracoid. Further differentiated from Kairuku grebneffi by the rounded (versus squared) shape of the olecranon.
