Lethocerus placidus
Taxonomy
Paranoika placida was named by Zamboni et al. (2002). Its type specimen is MPSC I 217 (RGMN-T083), an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato, Pedra Branca Quarry (Martins-Neto collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large lime mudstone in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
It was recombined as Lethocerus placidus by Moura-Júnior et al. (2021).
