Taxonomy
Dolesea subtila was named by Hannibal and May (2020). Its type specimen is OU 12152, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Richards Spur, which is in an Artinskian fissure fill claystone/conglomerate in Oklahoma. It is the type species of Dolesea.
