It was assigned to Saghatheriidae by Pickford (2004); to Saghatheriinae by Prothero and Schoch (1989) and Pickford (2005); and to Pliohyracidae by Carroll (1988), Rasmussen and Gutierrez (2009) and Rasmussen and Gutiérrez (2010).
