Taxonomy

Palaeophillipsia was named by Sugiyama and Okano (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: C l Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant. Its type is Palaeophillipsia japonica.

It was assigned to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); to Proetidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Linguaphillipsiinae by Kobayashi and Hamada (1980), Hahn et al. (2003).

Synonyms

Weberiphillipsia was named by Osmolska (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-u C Vise-u]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Palaeophillipsia by Vanderlaan and Ebach (2015).

It was assigned to Linguaphillipsiinae by Engel and Morris (1989); to Proetidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002).
Spinolimbella was named by Liu (1982).

It was synonymized subjectively with Weberiphillipsia by Jell and Adrain (2002); it was synonymized subjectively with Palaeophillipsia by Vanderlaan and Ebach (2015).
