Taxonomy
Tiznatzinia was named by Simpson (1936). It is not extant. Its type is Tiznatzinia vanderhoofi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Promioclaenus by Van Valen (1978) and Van Valen (1988).

It was assigned to Mioclaenidae by Simpson (1936), Cifelli (1983), Williamson and Lucas (1993), Williamson (1996) and Archibald (1998); and to Mioclaeninae by Zack et al. (2005).
