Taxonomy
Cretiscalpellum homseyi was named by Zullo (1987). Its type specimen is USNM 401556 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Biggs Farm, New Castle Co. [Mount Laurel Sand], which is in a Campanian coastal sandstone in the Mount Laurel Sand Formation of Delaware.
