Glyptoxoceras subcompressum

Taxonomy
Hamites subcompressus was named by Forbes (1846). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pondicherry, which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone/claystone in the Valudavur Formation of India.

It was recombined as Neohamites subcompressus by Brunnschweiler (1966) and Atabekyan and Khakimov (1976); it was synonymized subjectively with Glyptoxoceras rugatum by Kennedy and Henderson (1992); it was recombined as Glyptoxoceras subcompressum by Haggart and Graham (2018).
