Taxonomy
Cretiscalpellum mutterlosei was named by Gale (2019). Its type specimen is NHMUK IC 1380 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gott clay Pit, Sarstedt (late Hauterivian), which is in a Hauterivian marine claystone in Germany.
