Dromopus woodworthi was named by Lull (1920). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Footprint quarry 1 1/2 miles SW of Attleboro, MA, which is in a Pennsylvanian terrestrial shale in Massachusetts.
