Taxonomy
Sinokannemeyeria was named by Young (1937). Its type is Sinokannemeyeria pearsoni.

It was assigned to Sinokannemeyeriini by King (1988); and to Kannemeyeriidae by Sun (1963), Cox (1965), Cheng (1980), Carroll (1988), Li and Sun (2008).
