Taxonomy
Malthodes (Libertimalthodes) elytratus was named by Kupryjanowicz and Fanti (2019). Its type specimen is UCP UwB 1684, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber (UCP UwB collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland. It is the type species of Malthodes (Libertimalthodes).
