Gerontodacus succineus

Taxonomy
Protoculicoides succineus was named by Szadziewski (1996). Its type specimen is SMNS C31/14, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Jezzine (SMNS collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon. It is the type species of Gerontodacus.

It was recombined as Archiculicoides succineus by Szadziewski et al. (2016), Szadziewski (2018); it was recombined as Gerontodacus succineus by Borkent (2019), Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
