Taxonomy
Crucicephalus ocellatus was named by Shergold (1971). Its type specimen is CPC 9775, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gola Beds K102, which is in an Iverian marine grainstone in the Gola Beds Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Crucicephalus.
