Taxonomy
Calymene nivalis was named by Salter (1865). Its type specimen is NHM I.13553, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Neseuretus nivalis by Dean (1967), Dean (1975) and Morris and Fortey (1985); it was recombined as Vietnamia nivalis by Turvey (2005).
