Taxonomy
Margaretia chamblessi was named by Waggoner and Hagadorn (2004). Its type specimen is LACM 12855 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is LACM 17194, which is in a Dyeran marine siltstone/quartzite in the Latham Formation of California.
