Phylocentropus succinolebanensis was named by Wichard and Azar (2018). Its type specimen is Azar 500, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Mdeyrij-Hammana (LU collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon.
