W. P. Popenoe 1937he following is a de- scription of the left valve of this species: Chondrophore narrow and shallow, its floor being almost flush with the inner face of the hinge-plate; on the anterior border of the chondrophore is a very thin laminar tooth (accessory lamella?) which is separated from the posterior limb of the bifid cardinal by a very narrow slit; bifid cardinal tooth stout, limbs short; lateral teeth strong and situated close to the beaks.
