Taxonomy
Cyprimeria moorei was named by Popenoe (1937). Its type specimen is CIT (IP) 3440 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CIT loc. 92, Harding Canyon, Santa Ana Mountains, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Ladd Formation of California.
