Taxonomy

Eomyctophum was named by Danil'chenko (1947) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-m T Ol-u Sepkoski's reference number: 915].

It was assigned to Myctophiformes by Sepkoski (2002); to Eomyctophinae by Prokofiev (2006) and Přikryl et al. (2017); and to Myctophidae by Danil'chenko (1947), Danil'chenko (1960), Danilt'chenko (1962), Jerzmanska (1968), Ciobanu (1977), Constantin (1999) and Schwarzhans (2019).
