Keppleritiana graebensteini was named by Mitta (2017). Its type specimen is PIN 5546/130 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 34, Bolshoi Zelenchuk River, which is in a Bajocian marine sandstone in the Djangura Formation of the Russian Federation.
