Taxonomy
Prionocycloceras matsumotoi was named by Futakami (1991). Its type specimen is NSM PM9568, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ki504F, nodule in Kamiichi-no-sawa stream, which is in a Coniacian marine siliciclastic in Japan.
