Banksia archaeocarpa
Taxonomy
Banksia archaeocarpa was named by McNamara and Scott (1983). Its type specimen is WAM P79.42, a seed/fruit, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Merlinleigh Station, escarpment north of type section mesa, which is in a Lutetian shoreface sandstone in the Merlinleigh Sandstone Formation of Australia.
