Taxonomy
Scombrosarda devia was named by Danilt'chenko (1962). Its type specimen is PIN 1413/79 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dabakhana Gorge, Tbilisi, which is in a Lutetian marine horizon in the Dabakhana Svita Formation of Georgia.

It was recombined as Auxides devia by Monsch and Bannikov (2011).
