Microphorites moravicus was named by Tkoč et al. (2016). Its type specimen is PrF UK 6, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Studlov amber, eastern Moravia, which is in a Paleocene/Eocene terrestrial amber in Czechia.
