Pliodolops primulus
Taxonomy
Pliodolops primulus was named by Ameghino (1902). Its type specimen is MACN 10353, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Polydolops primulus by Simpson (1948); it was synonymized subjectively with Polydolops serra by Marshall (1982).
