Taxonomy
Obruchevichthys gracilis was named by Vorobyeva (1977). Its type specimen is PIN 1494/52, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Velna Ala locality, which is in a Frasnian terrestrial horizon in the Ogre Formation of Latvia. It is the type species of Obruchevichthys.
