Pterodon phiomensis
Taxonomy
Pterodon phiomensis was named by Osborn (1909). Its type specimen is AMNH 13253, a mandible (nearly perfect lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry A (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
