Taxonomy
Paleofroeschnerius magnus was named by Schaefer (1986). It is extant. Its type locality is Western Tennessee, which is in a Bartonian pond claystone in the Cockfield Formation of Tennessee. It is the type species of Paleofroeschnerius.
