Taxonomy
Tanabeceras horokanaiense was named by Shigeta (2013). Its type specimen is TKD 30051, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 81005, Suribachi-zawa, which is in a Cenomanian marine mudstone in Japan.
