Grammoceras soloniacense was named by Lissajous (1906).

It was recombined as Harpoceras soloniacense by Howarth (1992); it was recombined as Harpoceras (Maconiceras) soloniacense by Bécaud (2006); it was recombined as Maconiceras soloniacense by Guex (1972), Benzaggagh et al. (2022).
