Eupachycrinus was named by Meek and Worthen (1865) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u C Serp-l]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Eupachycrinidae.

It was assigned to Eupachycrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
