Taxonomy
Paratibetites yunnanensis was named by Liang (1977). Its type specimen is NIGP 24135 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is YHC415, Tiechang, Weishan County, which is in an Alaunian marine horizon in the Weishan Formation of China.
