Taxonomy
Ammonites pseudogardeni was named by Schlüter (1872) [DISTRIBUTION: Santonian-Campanian; Europe, Asia.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Dülmen (Schlüter collection), which is in a Campanian marine sandstone in the Dülmener Schichten Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Hauericeras (Gardeniceras) pseudogardeni by Renz (1982); it was recombined as Hauericeras pseudogardeni by Kennedy and Christennsen (1993); it was recombined as Hauericeras (Hauericeras) pseudogardeni by Kennedy and Kaplan (1995).
