Patrodoron auspicatum was named by Zalessky (1955). It is an impression. Its type locality is Koshelevka River, Tributary of Aya River, Ufa Basin, which is in a Kungurian deltaic siliciclastic in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Patrodoron.
