Zatrachys apicalis
Taxonomy
Zatrachys apicalis was named by Cope (1881). Its type specimen is AMNH FARB 4785, a set of postcrania, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo del Agua (Cope Collection AMNH), which is in a Wolfcampian terrestrial horizon in the Cutler Formation of New Mexico.
It was recombined as Alegeinosaurus aphthitos by Case (1911); it was considered a nomen dubium by Berman and Lucas (2003), Schoch and Milner (2014), Gee (2018).
