Taxonomy
Ringsteadia bassettensis was named by Spath (1935). Its type specimen is NHM C15426, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wootton Bassett (Marston Ironstone, BMNH), which is in an Oxfordian carbonate limestone in the Ampthill Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
