Taxonomy
Goniaraea christianiaensis was named by Wells (1934). Its type locality is Christiania, Parish of Manchester [Albert Town Mbr, Chapelton Fm], which is in a Lutetian shallow subtidal limestone in the Chapelton Formation of Jamaica.

It was recombined as Goniopora christianiaensis by Kiessling (2008).
