Pycnolepas rigida

Taxonomy
Pollicipes rigidus was named by Sowerby (1836). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Folkestone, Gault (BMNH collection), which is in an Albian carbonate chalk in the Gault Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Pycnolepas.

It was recombined as Pycnolepas rigidus by Withers (1935); it was recombined as Pycnolepas rigida by Carriol and Collins (2000), Jagt et al. (2007), Gale and Vidovic (2023).
