Taxonomy
Chelonibiidae was named by Pilsbry (1916). It is extant. Its type is Chelonibia.

It was reranked as the subfamily Chelonibiinae by Zullo (1982).

It was assigned to Coronulidae by Zullo (1982); to Chionolasmatoidea by Jones (2007); and to Coronuloidea by McLaughlin et al. (2005), Chan et al. (2021).
