Squalicorax baharijensis
Taxonomy
Corax baharijensis was named by Stromer (1927). Its type specimen is BSP 1912 VIII 35, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 500 m west of Gebel Maghrafe, which is in a Cenomanian marginal marine claystone in the Bahariya Formation of Egypt.
It was synonymized subjectively with Squalicorax curvatus by Shimada et al. (2006); it was recombined as Squalicorax baharijensis by Slaughter and Thurmond (1974), Werner (1989), Cappetta and Case (1999), Vullo et al. (2007) and Underwood et al. (2011).
