Taxonomy
Coleopsis was named by Kirejtshuk et al. (2014). Its type is Coleopsis archaica. It is the type genus of Coleopsidae, Coleopseoidea.
It was assigned to Tshekardocoleidae by Kirejtshuk et al. (2014); to Coleopsidae by Kirejtshuk and Nel (2016); and to Coleopseidae by Kirejtshuk (2020).
