Taxonomy
Cercopis santosae was named by Martins-Neto (1989). Its type specimen is 048-PI-DBAV-UERJ, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Santa Fe farm, Padre Eterno, Taubaté municipality (UERJ collection), which is in a Chattian lacustrine - large shale in the Tremembé Formation of Brazil.
It was recombined as Tauborixella santosae by Martins-Neto (1998).
