Taxonomy
Tamisiocaris was named by Daley and Peel (2010). Its type is Tamisiocaris borealis. It is the type genus of Cetiocaridae. It was considered monophyletic by Vinther et al. (2014).

It was assigned to Radiodonta by Daley and Peel (2010); to Cetiocaridae by Vinther et al. (2014); and to Tamisiocarididae by Pates and Daley (2019).
