Taxonomy
Sondalia kovalevi was named by Popov (1988). Its type specimen is PIN 4099/60, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Onokhoy (PIN collection 4099), which is in an Aptian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Godymboyskaya Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Sondalia.
