Taxonomy
Fennahia cretacea was named by Martins-Neto (1988). Its type specimen is CV-986, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (Vulcano collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Fennahia, Cretofennahia.
It was recombined as Cretofennahia cretacea by Martins-Neto and Szwedo (2007).
