Lithanomala oblonga
Taxonomy
Proteroscarabaeus oblongus was named by Ponomarenko (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 4085/48, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Leskovo (PIN collection 4085), which is in a Barremian lacustrine - small horizon in the Leskovskaya Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Lithanomala.
It was recombined as Lithanomala oblonga by Nikolajev (1992), Nikolajev (1998), Krell (2000), Nikolajev (2007), Allsopp and Schoolmeesters (2024).
