Wedekindellina was named by Dunbar and Henbest (1933) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-u Sepkoski's reference number: 146]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Fusulinacea by Stevens and Ross (1997); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
