Taxonomy
Stenopterna sambiensis was named by Herczek and Popov (2009). Its type specimen is GPIH 4662, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, GPIH collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Stenopterna, Tschirnhausia.
It was recombined as Tschirnhausia sambiensis by Herczek and Popov (2011).
