Taxonomy
Duncanovelia extensa was named by Jell and Duncan (1986). Its type specimen is NMVP27044, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is NMVPL425, Koonwarra, which is in an Aptian pond claystone/siltstone in Australia.
